The Ottawa Renewable Energy Co-op is on track to double its installed community solar capacity over the next two years, from 1.65 to 3.35 megawatts, after nabbing four new contracts under Ontario’s fifth and final feed-in tariff award.
Two of the projects, to be installed in summer 2018, will be on new schools under construction by the Centre-East French Catholic School Board—400 kilowatts at Mer Bleu High School in Orleans, and 250 kW at Paul-Desmarais High School in Stittsville. The other two are ground-mounted systems, to be completed by 2020 in the village of Munster, outside Ottawa.
