Japan’s current government appears to be hopeful as they reopen two nuclear reactors taken offline by the 2011 earthquake. The government’s stated goal is to go from zero nuclear after the Fukushima disaster to approximately 22% of national electricity by 2030. According to Resilience.org, Japan’s figures seem unlikely, 10% being more plausible, as 13 reactors would need extended lifespans, and legal challenges in regard to nuclear safety limit potential growth over upcoming years.
