University of Illinois Aims for Carbon Neutral 15 years Before Its Goal

Earlier this week the University of Illinois released their 2015 climate action plan to become carbon neutral by 2050. The updated version calls for studying the feasibility of moving the goal up by 15 years to 2035. “The developments of the past five years in climate science, and the fact that we are already experiencing the troubling effects of climate change, provide a new sense of urgency for tackling climate change,” the plan says.
