Dale Vince, founder of Electrocity, a UK green energy company supplying wind and solar power to British customers, is accusing the British government of distorting energy markets in favour of fossil fuels and nuclear energy. His accusation follows RenewableUK’s announcement that in the 2nd quarter of this year renewables produced 25.3% of the country’s electricity, beating both nuclear and coal. Vince says, “Renewable energy receives one-tenth of the support that fossil fuels do, yet powers 25% of the country. And government says only renewable energy has to stand on its own two feet. It makes no economic sense.”
