Governor Mark Dayton told BNSF Railway’s that he is deeply concerned about the recent increase in oil trains traveling on suburban tracks and through downtown Minneapolis putting an additional 99,000 people at risk. BNSF spokeswoman Amy McBeth said last week, “Volumes and routes can fluctuate for a number of reasons. In all areas of the metro region where we move crude oil and other [hazardous material], we take a number of steps to reduce risk.”
