According to a new report from Agriculture For Impact, African smallholder farmers should be given financial, technical, and political support to help climate-proof their crops. Community-led initiatives that help combat desertification, flooding, and drought are popular across Africa but need to be significantly scaled up to help mitigate climate threats. One of the study’s authors, Ramadjita Tabo says “change will come from the bottom up as local people take action themselves.”
