Worldwide sea levels rose an average of 3 inches since 1992, said a panel of NASA scientists in late August. In 2013, a UN panel predicted sea levels would rise from 1 to 3 feet by the end of the century. New research shows that sea level rise will most likely reach the high end of that range. Steve Nerem, a geophysicist at the University of Colorado, said, “Sea levels are rising faster than they did 50 years ago and it’s very likely to get worse in the future.”
