The LED industry is continuing to grow. Industrial sectors in the U.S. have already installed a base of 5.7 million LED’s saving 900 kwh annually, and if all the currently installed area and roadway lights are converted to LED (not a ridiculous assumption considering its advantages), the savings could jump to 19 billion kwh. Utilities “can’t fight this transition,” reports The Energy Collective, noting the best option might be to make the transition as seamless as possible, helping retrofit LED’s and earning themselves long-term customers.
