A new study from Oregon State University found shellfish industry workers are four times more likely to agree that ocean acidification is affecting the world’s aquatic animals and approximately 50% of shellfish farmers have experienced it firsthand. Shellfish die-offs have happened repeatedly in the northwest U.S. as waves of acid seas have passed through shellfish farmers’ stocks.
