
Two of the world’s largest clean energy companies are planning to develop up to a gigawatt of new wind power capacity in Spain by 2018.
The joint venture agreement between SunEdison, the world’s biggest renewable energy developer, and Gamesa, a Spanish wind energy leader, called for the companies to share ownership while the projects are in development. “Upon initiation of construction and once operational, SunEdison will take ownership and place them into its yieldco, TerraForm, to operate,” CleanTechnica reports.

“Gamesa, for its part, will supply the wind turbines and be responsible for subsequent operation and maintenance as part of long-term [operating and maintenance] agreements. It is also possible Gamesa will be responsible for engineering, procurement, and construction services for the individual projects.”
