A dozen of the world’s top energy experts, analysts, and consultants have formed an International Energy Advisory Council to help governments and other institutions make the switch to a 100% clean energy economy.
The group’s “firm focus” is “the replacement or avoidance of the world’s incumbent centralized fossil fuel and nuclear energy systems with a combination of energy efficiency and decentralized renewable energy systems,” RenewEconomy reports.

The Council represents nine nationalities, and its members have collectively advised more than 200 governments and organizations in 27 countries, plus more than 50 international agencies.
“The world no longer needs or wants centralized energy, fossil fuel, or nuclear power plants, and we believe that 100% renewable energy systems are achievable based on a combination of energy efficiency measures and local, decentralized renewable energy systems providing the remaining energy requirements,” said IEAC Chair Allan Jones.
