Two new wind farms in Ontario will produce 300 MW of electricity, enough to supply power to 100,000 homes, the Sauder School’s Clean Capital program reports.
“Siemens will supply turbines and rotors to both the 180 megawatt, 91-unit Armow Wind project near Kincardine—operated by Samsung Renewables and Pattern Energy Group—and Suncor Energy’s 100-megawatt Cedar Point II project,” Wakefield writes. Both projects are to go online by the end of next year, with a Siemens plant in Tillsonburg, Ontario building the 411 turbine blades they will require.

“The two orders further demonstrate that Canada is one of our most important wind markets in the Americas region,” said Siemans Canada Wind Power and Renewables CEO Markus Tacke.
