China emerges as the best country in which to invest in clean energy technologies in a new report by Climatescope.
“China is, paradoxically, both the world’s top emitter of greenhouse gases and the largest investor in green energy,” Larson writes. “This can be true because China’s demand for energy is increasing quickly enough to stoke demand for both traditional fossil fuels and renewable energy.”

The country has become the world’s largest producer of wind and solar equipment, as well as the largest market for renewable energy, and “has taken major strides to improve its domestic policy framework” for green energy investment, Climatescope reports.
