Tim McMillan, Saskatchewan’s former minister of rural health, will become president and CEO of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers October 1. Columnist Yedlin says McMillan takes over the organization “at a much different time for the industry compared with five years ago. Environmental issues, market access, tight oil, and fracking are just a few of the current issues,” with some industry voices questioning CAPP’s “effectiveness and relevance.” Yedlin comments that “it sure would be nice to see a shift under [McMillan’s] watch, from the energy sector always playing defence to being on offence.” (h/t to James Munson/iPolitics for pointing us to this story)
