Miami, along with the rest of south Florida, is beginning to drown as a result of sea level rise brought on by climate change. “Astonishingly, the population is growing, house prices are rising, and building goes on,” The Guardian reports. “Climate change is no longer viewed as a future threat around here,” Prof. Ben Kirtman, of the University of Miami told McKie. “It is something that we are having to deal with today.”
