Julie and Scott Brusaw have just hit $1.95 million in Indiegogo contributions, nearly double the goal they originally set for their Solar Roadways campaign, but critiques of the plan have been pouring in. Newsana+ curator Wayne McPhail took a close look at the science and engineering challenges behind Solar Roadways, and the project drew critical analysis on equities.com and widespread comment on slashdot. “I think the Idaho couple are sincere and well-meaning,” McPhail writes, “but their plan makes as much sense, well, as growing all our vegetables on the tops of our heads.” The Brusaws, who recently reported a 72-day delay in thank you videos to their higher-end donors, have not responded to a request for comment.
