The U.S. will have to do more to reduce its carbon pollution if it hopes to influence negotiations toward an international climate treaty in 2015, according to EU Climate Commissioner Connie Hedegaard. “This proposed rule is the strongest action ever taken by the U.S. government to fight climate change, which is good news and also shows that the United States is taking climate change seriously,” she said in a release.
