Recent wins on mercury, soot, and other pollutants have positioned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to withstand court challenges to forthcoming regulatory limits on carbon pollution from electricity generation, Renewable Energy World reported last week. The prior court decisions “gave credence to the EPA’s technical expertise and reasoning, say industry observers. So now, the agency faces the rough-and-tumble arena of carbon regulation with heightened credibility as it makes its most game-changing climate change ruling yet.”
