Fundy Tidal is planning a one-year demonstration of its Clean Current turbine in Nova Scotia’s Grand Passage, to begin in spring 2015, according to the Digby Courier. The 3.5-metre-diameter turbine has a rated capacity of 65 kilowatts, and would supply enough electricity to power six to eight homes. “Fundy Tidal will select turbine locations based on community input, flow speeds, depth, seabed, waves, marine life, fishing zones, and acceptable infringement on navigation,” the Courier reported.
